| JACKSON 22 Series FRIDGE
BODIES |
|
Jackson Coachworks are the oldest manufacturers
of temperature controlled vehicle bodies in the UK. The company
has specialised in this area ever since Mr Len Jackson designed
and manufactured one of the first refrigerated truck bodies in
the early 1950's and, in many respects, they have become the
benchmark by which other trucks are measured.
Suitable for rigid vehicles from 3.5 to 26
tonnes and including articulated trailers, single or multi
compartment, Chilled, Frozen and Ice Cream specifications they
have immense strength and a very high thermal performance.
Finished in high gloss white to both exterior and interior,
their superb good looks can be one of your best adverts, for
“to own a 22 Series Fridge Body is to be
known as someone who has the highest standards and demands the
best.”
22 Series Fridge Bodies feature a totally
bonded construction utilising structural adhesives and a
specifically designed suite of white powder coated peripheral
capping sections so that the main structure is constructed
without mechanical fasteners and thereby prospective leaks.
|
|
Jackson Coachworks effectively offer a 'Design
and Build' service. 22 Series Fridge Bodies are available with
an impressive list of bodywork options allowing us to customise
a specification to meet your requirements exactly.
You also have access to our unique computer
software. When you have selected the model of chassis cab,
refrigeration unit, body and tail lift of your choice, this will
calculate the payload, and axle loadings for the vehicle - even
in a diminishing load situation for every time you unload a row
of pallets!
|
| |
22 Series Fridge Bodies are available with
several features and options not commonly available elsewhere:
|
 |
Fourteen new body sizes have been introduced
designed around the footprint of the standard pallet, many of
which allow an additional pallet to be carried compared to other
bodies. These are available in six different models for chill,
frozen and ice cream usage with Thin Wall and Meat Hanging
specifications. A totally new model - the FV - has also been
introduced specifically designed for carriers of fresh produce
where a high cubic capacity is important for smaller bodies.

22 Series Fridge Bodies include several features
not usually found elsewhere……
|
| |
 |
Appearance is important and none more so than at
the business end of the vehicle. "Impossible to keep looking good"
they say - but no longer. Our stainless steel rear frame can now
be further enhanced by a stainless under-run bar and frame
incorporating a hinged step assembly. Years later it will still
look as good as the day it was new and all for the additional
cost of the first paint touch-up!
|
|
For operators in rural areas or those with
restricted access a part selection of our now famous impact
absorbing rubbing strip can be fitted around the top of the front
corner posts. Prevention is better than cure as they say.
|
 |
 |
As multi-compartment bodies become more popular
so good side-access grows in importance. Our cantilever hinged
side step assemblies are the perfect answer! When open they
provide ergonomic access, when closed they simply disappear into
the sideguards, and an audible warning prevents you from ever
forgetting to close them.
|
|
Our interior rubbing plates are, of course,
fitted smooth to the side walls but feature a corrugated section
across the bulkhead(s). This is a sacrificial impact-absorbing
section to further protect the insulated panel.
|
 |
 |
Our GRP screed floor surface is probably the
most durable available in any vehicle anywhere. Impregnated with
carborundum grit it will withstand almost any operation and as it
is moulded up the side walls forms a waterproof tray. There is,
however, a white 'wear strip' substrate which (should it ever
appear) alerts you to maintenance being required.
|
|
All interior lights are recessed fluorescent
units and all side marker and outline lights LED's. We can't
promise that you won't ever need a replacement but you certainly
won't always be changing bulbs.
